bouncing back

i didn't expect
that it'll only take
your smile
to move me back
to writing
poetry again
i haven't written
a single line
for a long time now
as my heart was so
heavily burdened
and bruised
so i set aside
my loving part
and forgot about
writing poems
then one day
oh, that day
you flashed your
redeeming smile
you inspired
my every sinew
and my loving part
was back aglow
burning to see
the world with you
to hear sweet melodies
and to hear my name
sweetly uttered by you
now i can write about
sadness and joy
about loving
and being loved
about being hurt
and bouncing back.
